The landing wasn't quite right, but it sure was close enough to be considered a minor victory.
After launching a Dragon cargo mission to the International Space Station on Tuesday, SpaceX made a second attempt to return the first stage of its Falcon 9 rocket and land it on a drone ship off the coast of Florida.
While the rocket didn't survive the landing, it was this close to sticking it, per the new footage.
The rocket made it to the drone ship, but then it toppled and exploded.
This is the second failed attempt at landing the first stage of the rocket. The company aims to make parts of the rocket reusable to reduce the cost of future space missions. Since the first failed attempt, the drone ship has been updated to handle large ocean swells.
